El 22 de julio de 2025 fuimos testigos de una de esas escenas que parten el alma. Mi marido caminaba tranquilamente por la calle cuando presenció cómo un coche en marcha disminuía la velocidad, abría la puerta y lanzaba a un pequeño cachorrito de perro a la carretera. El animal salió rodando, sin entender qué pasaba. Sin pensarlo dos veces, mi marido corrió a socorrerlo. Lo tomó en brazos, temblando de la rabia, la tristeza y la impotencia.
Lo primero que hicimos fue llevarlo al veterinario. Por suerte, no tenía heridas graves. Le hicieron un chequeo completo y se comprobó que no tenía microchip, ni ningún tipo de identificación. Lo habían abandonado como si fuese basura. Pero para nosotros fue una señal: ese perrito necesitaba un hogar, y nosotros podíamos dárselo.
Decidimos quedárnoslo. Se llama Huston y ya vive con nosotros. Esta semana ha sido de adaptación, de muchos mimos, de presentaciones oficiales con Betty, su nueva hermana mayor. Y aunque Huston es todavía muy pequeño, se nota que tiene un corazón inmenso. Es noble, cariñoso, y nos ha robado el alma.
El próximo martes 29 de julio iremos al veterinario para que Huston sea oficialmente el nuevo miembro de la familia: con sus vacunas, su microchip y todo lo necesario para empezar esta nueva vida como se merece.
🐶 Contra el abandono animal
El abandono animal no es solo un acto cruel, es un delito y una vergüenza social. Cada año, miles de perros y gatos son abandonados en España. Algunos tienen suerte y encuentran una segunda oportunidad. Otros no sobreviven.
Queremos compartir esta historia porque creemos que la visibilidad genera conciencia. No mires hacia otro lado si presencias algo así. Actúa. Denuncia. Protege.
Y si estás pensando en ampliar tu familia, adopta, no compres. Hay miles de animales esperando en refugios. Algunos, como Huston, simplemente fueron traicionados por quien debía cuidarlos.

On July 22nd, 2025, we witnessed one of those heartbreaking moments that stay with you forever. My husband was walking down the street when he saw a car slow down, open its door, and throw a small puppy onto the road. The puppy tumbled across the street, completely disoriented. Without hesitation, my husband ran toward him and picked him up, trembling with shock and sadness.
We rushed to the vet, fearing the worst. Thankfully, he wasn’t seriously injured. They did a full check-up and found no microchip, no collar—no signs that anyone was looking for him. He had been thrown away like trash. But to us, it was a sign: this little dog needed a home, and we were going to give it to him.
We’ve decided to keep him. His name is Huston, and he’s already part of our family. This week has been all about cuddles, getting to know his new big sister Betty, and settling into his forever home. He’s still very small, but his heart is huge. He’s kind, affectionate, and has already won us over.
On Tuesday, July 29th, we’ll go back to the vet to officially welcome Huston into our family—with vaccines, a microchip, and everything he needs to begin his new life the way he deserves.
